As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Badge Encoding in Northampton, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour

Job Schedule:

3.1 Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)

• Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with access control systems and badge management.
• Experience in managing access to secure areas and understanding of safety protocols is preferred.
• Candidates may be required to provide examples of previous roles where they utilized access control systems.

3.2 Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)

• Candidates must exhibit proficiency in using computers or tablets for daily tasks.
• Familiarity with basic software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms) is essential.
• Candidates may be assessed through practical tests or interviews to evaluate their comfort level with technology.

3.3 Customer Service Experience (B219)

• Candidates must have prior experience in customer service roles.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and provide exceptional service is required.
• Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific scenarios where they successfully handled customer inquiries or complaints.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with site policies.
• Control entry and exit of vehicles, deliveries, and personnel, following established procedures for truck traffic, loading areas, and restricted locations.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading zones to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
