Job Description

Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Emergency Medical Technician. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides professional emergency medical and first-aid services at executive events. The EMT is responsible for assessing and responding to medical emergencies, providing appropriate first aid and emergency medical care within the scope of certification, and coordinating with local emergency medical services (EMS) and other emergency responders when transport or advanced medical care is required.

The EMT maintains a discreet and service-oriented presence while supporting the health and safety of executives, employees, guests, and event personnel.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide prompt first aid and emergency medical care to individuals experiencing illness or injury during executive events
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs and patient conditions, and provide care within the scope of EMT certification
  • Administer CPR, operate an AED, control bleeding, and provide other appropriate emergency medical interventions
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate with 911, EMS, fire, police, or other emergency responders when transport or advanced medical care is required
  • Assist with patient movement, transfer, and preparation for transport while maintaining patient safety and dignity
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatment provided, and patient disposition in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations
  • Inspect, maintain, and restock first-aid kits, AEDs, emergency medical equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current New York State EMT certification/license or Paramedic certification/license, as applicable to the position
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certification or demonstrated competency in AED operation.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an EMT or equivalent emergency medical services experience
  • Experience responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid in a professional environment
  • Experience performing patient assessments, CPR, AED use, bleeding control, and other basic emergency medical interventions
  • Experience coordinating with EMS and other emergency responders
  • Experience working independently while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Current knowledge of EMT practices, emergency medical procedures, first aid, CPR, AED operation, bleeding control, and patient assessment
  • Knowledge of applicable New York State EMS requirements, protocols, regulations, and standards of practice
  • Ability to quickly assess medical conditions, prioritize patient needs, and provide appropriate care within the scope of EMT certification
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in stressful or emergency situations while exercising sound judgment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executives, VIPs, employees, guests, event personnel, security, and emergency responders
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in an executive-event environment
  • Ability to accurately document patient care and maintain emergency medical equipment, supplies, and related records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated event, security, and emergency response team, including flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Additional education or training in emergency medical services, occupational health, emergency preparedness, or a related field
  • Advanced first-aid or emergency response certifications
  • Experience providing medical support in corporate, executive, hospitality, special-event, or high-profile environments

PAY RATE: $51.50 per hour
