Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring an Armed Transit Security Supervisor to support our RTD Transit Security operations. This is a mobile, field-based supervisory position responsible for overseeing security officers across multiple RTD posts and locations. The Armed Supervisor will spend a significant portion of the shift driving between multiple locations, conducting officer checks, ensuring proper post coverage, responding to operational needs, and providing leadership and direction to officers in the field. This is not a stationary security supervisor position and requires an individual who is comfortable constantly driving, being in the field, and addressing issues as they arise.

 

Location: Denver, CO

Pay Rate: $29.73/hour
Schedule:
Shift 1 - Thursday - Friday 1:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday - Sunday 5:00pm-5:00am
Shift 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00pm- 5:00am, Wednesday 5:00pm-5:00am

Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following: At least 1 year of supervisor expereinece, 2 years of law enforcement experience, 1 year of active-duty military service, or 1 year of corrections experience. In lieu of this, candidates may qualify with 7 years of unarmed security experience, 3 years of armed security experience, or a minimum of 60 college credit hours.

 

The Armed Security Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring officers are present at their assigned posts, properly positioned, performing their duties, and wearing the required uniform and equipment. Responsibilities will include conducting regular post and officer checks, managing call-offs and attendance issues, assisting with scheduling and post coverage, reviewing payroll and timekeeping, addressing employee performance concerns, assisting with disciplinary actions, responding to operational issues, and maintaining communication with officers and management. The supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring officers follow Allied Universal and RTD policies, procedures, and post orders while providing coaching, guidance, and accountability to assigned personnel.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Communicate staffing needs on shift to Account Manager or Operations Manager
  • Assure that officers receive appropriate training, developing them in both technical and professional skills
  • Assure that employee grievances are heard with help from appropriate district or region HR support employees and Account or Operations Manager
  • Administer JSA’s and safety programs outlining site-specific hazards for professional security officers on assigned shift including vehicle/driving safety as appropriate to Corporate procedures
  • Assist Account or Operations Manager to manage uniforms, equipment, supplies and vehicles utilized at the account, maintaining appropriate inventories and maintenance checklists
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
