Job Description


As a Security Guard Full Time Driver Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and respond to security-related concerns. You will use technology to support site operations, maintain a visible presence that helps deter incidents, and provide professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain required access-control records.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, restricted areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual conditions.
  • Support compliance with chemical and petrochemical location entry requirements, including personal protective equipment and restricted-area protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
