Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Driver Customer Service in Carleton, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will support a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location by conducting routine patrols, monitoring access points, and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide welcoming customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and contribute to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
