Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.46 / Hour

  1. Age Requirement:

    • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age (C101) to be eligible for employment.
  2. Driver's License:

    • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with the AU Driver Policy Requirements (C123). Candidates must provide proof of a valid license during the application process.
  3. Access Control/Badge Experience:

    • Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management (B201). This experience is essential for roles that involve security and access management.
  4. Alarm Panel Experience:

    • Familiarity with alarm panel systems is required (B202). Candidates must demonstrate their ability to operate and respond to alarm systems effectively.
  5. Technology Proficiency:

    • Candidates must be comfortable using computers or tablets (B204). Proficiency in basic software applications and digital communication tools is necessary for job performance.
  6. Customer Service Experience:

    • A background in customer service is essential (B219). Candidates should have experience in interacting with clients and providing high-quality service.
  7. Physical Requirements:

    • Candidates must be able to lift more than 20 lbs (B209). This requirement is crucial for positions that involve physical tasks or manual handling.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly in accordance with site procedures.
  • Assist with access control, visitor inquiries, and directions while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
