Security Patrol / Gate Officers will monitor the property for safety or
security risks that may negatively impact personnel and/or the facility.
When working the gate, this Security Professional must screen and
register personnel attempting to enter the site. Patrol and Gate personnel
are cross-trained and work interchangeably.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be

• Screen all personnel, vehicles and equipment attempting to enter the gated portion of the HQ site ensuring all
have proper credentials or authorization
• Assist with evacuation and personnel accountability during alarms or drills
• Post in the guardhouse and monitor the surrounding area for safety or security related concerns
• Conduct random and routine patrols of both interior and exterior portions of the property on foot and/or in a
vehicle acting as a visible deterrent to illegal or unwanted activity including but not limited to; trespassing,
vandalism, sabotage, theft, etc.
• Screen personnel on site or attempting to enter the site to ensure they have a business need to be present,
have appropriate ID or Visitors Pass, etc.
• Monitor client facilities, alarms and activities and coordinating response as required
• Coordinate required access to facilities as needed, ensuring appropriate calls are made for visitors of deliveries
• Provide assistance and direction to personnel approved to be on site including employees, visiting employees,
business Visitors, Executive Drivers, Tow Truck Drivers, etc.
• Monitor property to ensure all client rules are being followed including: No Smoking, No Photographs without
approval, Speed Limit, Use of Pedestrian Pathways, etc.
• Assist with evacuation and personnel accountability during alarms or drills
• Ensure all perimeter doors and gates are secured and functional
• Ensure all lighting is functional to help promote site safety
• Test turnstiles, panic buttons, and other equipment on a routine basis
• Report all maintenance concerns with security equipment, doors, gates, lighting, windows, gates, panic
buttons, turnstiles, etc. and following through until corrective action is taken
• Promptly respond to all dispatches by the on-site Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to investigate
alarms and potential security or safety concerns they observe
• Coordinate emergency response activities in a calm and professional manner for situations such as medical
response, fire alarm, leaks, spills, etc.
• Observe any actual or potential safety or security risks that may negatively impact the site, personnel and/or
facilities
• Communicate any issues or updates to the security team and management promptly
• De-escalate situations in the field help mitigate the concern and possible impact to the organization
• Alert to unusual/suspicious activity and support or escalate appropriately to help minimize actual or potential
threats
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with the GSOC personnel and all levels of client and Allied Universal
security management teams
• Maintain situational awareness of local, regional, national and global events that may impact the site
• Complete thorough shift activity logs and incident reports during all shifts worked as well as other general
administrative support tasks as assigned
• Troubleshoot problems, gaps in services, and recommend solutions
• Provide support and execution of special events as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience
required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be
successful in this role.
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent or a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in the security industry
• Valid driver’s license
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within first 60 days of employment (company-provided), certification in:
o First Aid
o Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
o Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in providing security services in a corporate office setting
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age, or older if required by state
• Attention to detail; patrol officers need to quickly notice anomalies and be able to assess potential risks or
issues
• Ability to learn via on-the-job training and interaction with current staff members
• Ability to identify, manage, and report security risks impacting personnel, facilities and the business
• Ability to process information and effectively communicate amongst a variety of stakeholder groups,
departments and emergency response agencies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to give clear, assertive, directions, including 2-
way radio communications
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and influence others
• Ability to work quickly and effectively under high stress situations, while exercising sound judgement
• Ability to effectively handle a wide variety of emergency situations impacting personnel and facilities
• Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multitask
• Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office programs including Outlook and Word
• Ability to work in a technology-based environment and effectively utilize a wide variety of security systems
including card access, camera systems and alarm systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:
• Indoor and outdoor environment, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
• Major activities include walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing
• Physical effort is standing, walking for long periods, including up/downstairs and inclines, sitting; minimal to
no stooping or kneeling; may need to maneuver equipment such as cones, barricades or bollards as needed
• Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law
