Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Professional - Unarmed. The Security Professional will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior) in a hospital environment. Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this role, qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law. This assignment is in a healthcare facility. As such, a tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations may be required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Guard II must have at least two (1) years of full-time paid experience as a security guard in a
healthcare environment and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Guard II must have at least one (1) year of full-time paid experience as a security guard in a healthcare environment and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ensuring County staff present appropriate County identification when entering a Service Site or restricted areas within the Service Site.
  • Intervening to prevent injurious acts to persons or damage to County property.
  • Safeguarding County property against theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Preventing entry of weapons and other illegal contraband into a Service Site.
  • Providing information and assistance to the public as needed.
  • Operating Contractor- or County-owned weapon screening equipment, including x-ray machines and magnetometers, both screen-operated and hand-held, as required by Service Sites, and documenting findings.
  • Visually screening packages for suspicious markings. If a package is suspicious, placing it in an open area and notifying proper authorities, including local law enforcement and the Service Site Administrator.
  • Locking and unlocking gates and doors, and raising and lowering flags at designated times.
  • Ensuring that only authorized personnel are permitted access to closed or restricted areas.
  • Responding to reports of ill or injured visitors, patrons, or employees; rendering first aid; and notifying local law enforcement and the Service Site Administrator as soon as practicably feasible.
  • Relaying reports of bomb threats immediately to local law enforcement and the Service Site Administrator.
  • Responding to the scene of locally activated fire, burglary, or other alarms, evaluating the situation, and taking appropriate action.
  • Monitoring building alarm systems and electronic surveillance equipment, such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitors, in buildings, halls, or parking lots.
  • Conducting regular vehicle patrols of Service Sites, utilizing Contractor-issued motor vehicles, bicycles, or scooters as required by each Service Site.
  • Logging activities and events on the Daily Activity Report (DAR).
  • When necessary, operating Contractor-owned motor vehicles and/or bicycles to conduct inspections around Service Sites.
