As a Security Officer Armed Protection Specialist in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry in accordance with site procedures; report unauthorized access attempts and/or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with emergency responders as needed.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
  • An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
