Job Description


As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Access Monitoring in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will assist visitors and employees with professionalism, communicate clearly, and document observations using computer or tablet tools. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, transit facility policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and/or emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned locations, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site-specific procedures.
  • Document incidents, observations, and completed patrols accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and authorized personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
