Job Description


As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Readiness in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while helping maintain a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of site conditions, report maintenance hazards or security-related concerns to appropriate personnel, and support a professional environment for all occupants.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
