Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed - Access Response in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols and drive as needed to support security-related operations. You will maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to patients, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, critical situations, medical emergencies, and disturbances in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, emergency departments, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, access control, and enforcement of site-specific policies while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation related to incidents, patrol activities, access concerns, and other security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
