Job Description


As a Security Officer Unarmed Driver Assignment in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a technology data center location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This driving position supports a caring, reliable team through routine site activities, incident reporting, and professional interaction with employees and visitors, while acting with integrity and embracing Allied Universal’s agile, innovative approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology data center by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of data center facilities, exterior perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs while communicating relevant security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
