As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Observer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government ferry location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at ferry terminals and waterfront facilities.
  • Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, ferry access points, waiting areas, exterior perimeters, and nearby waterfront locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation while maintaining professional communication with site personnel and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
