Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Security Guard in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

The exact schedule for this role has not been determined. That is common for this type of position and may depend on pre-hire steps that take time which could include the onboarding and training processes. If hired, your manager will work with you to determine your schedule based on business needs and your availability.


What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support public-facing operations by assisting visitors, employees, and authorized personnel with directions, information, and/or security-related guidance while maintaining awareness of site activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton qualifications are preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
