Job Description


As a Security Officer Dispatch Support in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal in a dynamic commercial real estate location where you will help monitor communications, track security-related activity, and coordinate responses across the property. In this dispatch role, you will support officers and building occupants with strong customer service, clear communication, and attention to detail, while bringing Allied Universal’s people-first culture, teamwork, reliability, agility, and integrity to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities from a dispatch post.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, communication systems, and/or incoming calls to identify security-related concerns and relay information to on-site personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Dispatch officers and/or appropriate responders to incidents, maintenance concerns, access issues, and critical situations across the location while maintaining clear communication and accurate activity logs.
  • Document incidents, visitor or vendor concerns, after-hours activity, and/or unusual conditions, and communicate updates to property management and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Support regular and random patrol operations by coordinating officer assignments, tracking status updates, and helping to deter unauthorized activity throughout the business and perimeter.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
