Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage incidents, and support security-related operations with professionalism and care. This role combines routine patrols, strong communication, and customer service while reflecting our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, staff, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public spaces while following post orders for an armed assignment, helping to support compliance with location rules, reporting requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, patrol activities, and notable events, and assist with directing people during evacuations, medical calls, and/or other emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have 3+ years of experience as a military police officer or corrections officer or in armed security-related work, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
  • Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or have 5+ years of armed security-related experience.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
