Job Description


As a Security Officer Welcome Desk Coordinator in Jersey City, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal at a financial institution location, you will be a welcoming presence who helps support security-related operations through visitor management, access control, attentive communication, and professional customer service. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, acts with integrity, and brings a reliable, caring, and innovative approach to creating a positive first impression every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
  • Monitor lobby and front desk activity, verify visitor access and/or credentials, and document arrivals, departures, and other front desk interactions in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Answer questions, assist with directions, and support a professional front desk presence that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in security-related work, law enforcement, military police, or military service.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
