Job Description


As a Security Officer Alarm Response Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a fast-paced tech location. In this role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Guided by a caring culture, teamwork, reliability, and integrity, you will help create a welcoming environment while using sound judgment and professionalism throughout each shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry points, badges, visitor activity, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols, helping to support authorized access and orderly operations.
  • Support Allied Universal standards by reporting maintenance issues, policy concerns, and/or suspicious behavior promptly while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
