Job Description


As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Front Royal, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help monitor entry points, perform screening procedures, and support access control while providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and personnel by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals, personal belongings, packages, and/or vehicles entering restricted or controlled areas in accordance with post orders and applicable screening protocols.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, and report unauthorized or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations with professionalism, documenting observations and actions taken according to site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help support security-related operations and identify unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
