As a Armed Security Officer - Building Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will support daily operations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while representing a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team committed to people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence within post orders and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying authorization, observing visitor movement, and documenting security-related incidents according to site procedures.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports on daily activities, patrol findings, incidents, and/or interactions with the public, staff, and local authorities as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
