Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Driver Responder in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a utilities location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support site operations through strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout utility facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and support visitor and vehicle screening processes in accordance with site protocols for a utilities location.
  • Support incident reporting, access control, and emergency preparedness activities while maintaining a professional presence at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
