Job Description


As a Security Officer NYS Licensed Patrol Expert in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. In this role, you will put people first, work as part of a reliable team, and act with integrity while helping create a welcoming environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location serving vulnerable populations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with staff, visitors, and/or public agency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry when required, and report security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
  • Document incidents, daily activity, and/or unusual observations in required logs and reports, and assist with crowd management, de-escalation, and orderly operations during routine and emergency conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 6 or more months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
