Job Description


As a Security Officer Apartments Community in Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to residents and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential community, including common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations to help to identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points, visitor activity, and/or community amenities in accordance with site expectations, helping to support authorized entry and report suspicious or unauthorized activity.
  • Assist with routine security-related reporting, shift communications, and/or coordination with property management and emergency services when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
