Job Description


As a Security Officer Mobile Patrol Driver in Redwood City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic education location as a driving patrol professional, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and supporting students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will bring reliability, agility, and integrity to every interaction while working as part of a caring, innovative team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and sharing information with appropriate campus and/or site contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking locations, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, verify access as directed by site procedures, and report suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
  • Support campus operations by assisting with directions, reporting maintenance and lighting concerns, and communicating clearly with Allied Universal leadership and/or local contacts regarding security-related issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 or more years of security-related experience are required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
