Job Description


As a Security Officer - Badge Desk in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control professional at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, where you will monitor entry activity, verify badges and credentials, and support a professional welcoming experience. This role combines customer service and communication with visible security-related presence, helping to deter incidents while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, our caring culture, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, badge verification practices, and security-related policies at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas, offices, equipment rooms, and other sensitive spaces.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting unusual activity, unsecured doors, and other conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs, access records, and incident documentation, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues through appropriate channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
