How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and communicate with staff, visitors, and public contacts regarding site rules and security-related procedures.
- Support emergency and routine operations by assisting with alarms, medical calls, suspicious activity reports, and/or requests for assistance while following post orders and local regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Must have an active DoD Confidential clearance.
- Must have 1 or more year of law enforcement experience, or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
- Must possess an armed guard card or license.
- Must have a college degree.
- Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
