Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Experienced in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer serving a public-facing location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support people with professionalism and clear communication. In this role, you will bring reliability, integrity, and teamwork to each shift while helping create a welcoming environment through responsive customer service and agile decision-making.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific procedures, security-related policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment and clear communication.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
  • Maintain an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations, helping to deter unwanted activity through professional interaction and visible patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
