Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Operative in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic commercial real estate location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism and care. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents, maintenance-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and communicating with property management and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, including lobbies, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, support badge and entry procedures, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations according to site guidelines.
  • Support daily operations by completing incident reports, logging routine activity, and providing courteous assistance to occupants and guests throughout varying shifts and weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
