Job Description


As a Security Officer Access Specialist in Plainfield, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer, where you will help monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor access, and support a professional, customer-focused experience. In this role, you will remain visible, communicate clearly, and help to deter security-related incidents while working with a team that values being agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, process visitor and/or contractor check-in, and document access activity for the location.
  • Respond to incidents, delivery-related issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, with attention to gates, docks, parking areas, and other access-sensitive areas.
  • Support security-related operations at a logistics and distribution location by helping to deter unauthorized access, reporting unusual activity, and communicating clearly with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
