Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Pay Rate: $29.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations in accordance with post orders.
  • Support day-to-day operations by completing incident reports, maintaining awareness of site activity, and following Allied Universal standards along with client-directed procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
