Job Description


As a Security Officer Driving Role Zone Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed driving patrol officer in a retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine mobile and foot patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will support a welcoming atmosphere through strong customer service and communication, while bringing our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Pay Rate: $19.31 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or store personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, common areas, entrances, exits, and/or exterior perimeter areas.
  • Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or potential hazards to help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted behavior at the location.
  • Document routine activities, incidents, and/or observations in required reports and share updates with Allied Universal leadership and/or designated site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
