Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Response in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this armed post, you will support access awareness and site protocols while embodying Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Pay Rate: $24.85 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, local law enforcement, and/or first responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout platforms, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Support order at the location by following post orders, maintaining a visible presence, assisting with crowd and passenger flow concerns, and completing detailed activity and incident reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
