As an Armed Security Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional presence through strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and emergency response support at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, public officials, and/or local law enforcement as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public spaces while verifying credentials, controlling access, and reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Support daily operations by completing incident reports, maintaining post records, following department post orders, and assisting with security-related requests in a professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
