Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Driver Patrol Assignment in Odessa, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is an armed, driving post for professionals who bring a calm presence, integrity, and teamwork while supporting daily operations with Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting local law enforcement and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for policy violations, disorderly conduct, and/or potential theft-related activity, and report observations according to post orders.
  • Support retail operations by assisting with access control, after-hours checks, alarm response, and documentation of incidents, hazards, and/or unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Must possess one or more of the following;
    • Minimum of three (3) years of military, law enforcement, or corrections officer experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years of employment in an armed security role
    • Current employment with Allied Universal with a minimum of four (4) years armed experience
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
