As a Security Officer Patrol in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout school buildings, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual behavior.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, and report suspicious, disruptive, and/or policy-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities, and support a professional presence at the location during routine operations and special events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
