Job Description


As a Security Officer Hospital Patrol Specialist in Brandon, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including hallways, waiting areas, parking areas, and perimeter access points, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access, assist with visitor direction, and support orderly foot traffic within the location.
  • Assist with security-related requests from location personnel, including observing for unusual behavior, helping to de-escalate routine situations, and communicating with supervisors and/or first responders when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Must be willing to work in a hospital environment that may include the morgue.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be willing and able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Must have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
