As a Security Officer Skilled Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support passengers and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. In this fast-paced waterfront setting, you will bring reliability, teamwork, and integrity to every shift while helping create a welcoming environment for everyone on site.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, commuters, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, restricted spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and screening or access points as assigned, verifying authorization for restricted areas and assisting with orderly movement of pedestrian traffic.
  • Support daily operations by observing passenger and visitor activity, providing directions and information, and communicating with site personnel regarding security-related issues and/or operational concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
