Job Description


As a Security Officer Building Access Control in Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Officer at a premier commercial real estate location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness with strong customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time / Mix Shift 

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or property staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents, maintenance concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to property management and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout lobbies, corridors, parking areas, loading zones, and/or the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and/or assigned posts, document daily activities and incident information, and report security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Support access control and visitor processing functions, provide directions and assistance, and help to maintain an orderly environment for tenants, guests, and/or vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
