As a Security Officer Package Screening in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional, welcoming experience for visitors and team members. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements. You will remain visible, communicate clearly, and contribute to security-related operations with agility, reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points for employees, visitors, vendors, and/or delivery personnel, verifying credentials and authorizations in support of site access requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access irregularities, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, including shipping, receiving, parking, and trailer yard areas, as working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity by observing movement at gates, entrances, and high-traffic areas within a logistics and distribution location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
