Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Inmate Transport  in Punta Gorda, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed patrol officer in a driving post, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support the public with strong communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining aware of unusual activity and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and help to deter prohibited items, trespassing, and/or disruptions on the property.
  • Support public-facing operations by assisting visitors, staff, and contractors with directions, access protocols, and security-related questions while maintaining professional communication standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
