Job Description


As a Security Officer Lobby Desk in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer in a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, you will welcome visitors, manage access, monitor activity at the front entrance, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by following site-specific procedures, visitor management protocols, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Monitor access to the lobby and reception area, verify visitor and contractor credentials, issue badges or visitor passes, and maintain front desk logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with building contacts, employees, and/or first responders when needed.
  • Support a professional lobby environment at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by answering questions, directing guests, and reporting unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Observe entrances, reception areas, and adjacent access points from a stationary post to help to deter unauthorized entry and support security-related policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 or more years of security-related experience is required.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
