Job Description


As a Security Guard Licensed Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In a fast-paced environment, you will support daily operations with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a tech, media, or telecom location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, and other security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document visits, deliveries, and/or incidents in required logs and reports.
  • Support emergency response activities by following post orders, assisting with evacuations and/or restricted access procedures, and reporting conditions that may impact daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
