Job Description


As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Homestead, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer in a government transit location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support riders, visitors, and staff through strong communication and customer service while bringing Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and personnel by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, public personnel, and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned transit properties, including buildings, platforms, parking areas, perimeter zones, and other restricted or public-facing areas.
  • Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, hazards, and other security-related concerns, and document observations, incidents, and actions taken in accordance with post orders.
  • Support access control and screening activities, verify credentials where required, and help to deter unauthorized entry, trespassing, and disorderly conduct through a visible armed presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
