Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Alarm Monitoring in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service to residents and guests. In this role, you will support a caring community through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while bringing an agile, reliable, and innovative approach to every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting observations according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential community, including common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations as assigned.
  • Monitor access points, amenity spaces, and visitor activity to help support property rules, identify unusual conditions, and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Assist with assigned post duties related to residential operations, including observing for unauthorized activity, addressing policy-related issues, and communicating with local authorities and/or property management when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
