Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Sylacauga, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed driving patrol officer at a cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control activities, and help to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other assigned areas while assisting with access control, visitor directions, and crowd flow during daily operations and/or special events.
  • Support the protection of property, exhibits, and restricted areas by observing site conditions, following post orders, and communicating clearly with staff, visitors, and/or emergency responders when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
