Job Description


As a Security Officer Entry Screener in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will help monitor access points, conduct screening activities, and support security-related operations through strong communication and customer service. In this role, you will remain visible, complete routine observations, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen people, packages, and personal property entering and/or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and established security-related procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting potential concerns and documenting security-related observations and/or incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
