Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Access Screening in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access awareness through strong customer service and communication. You will be part of a team that values reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity while putting people first in a caring, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location serving the public.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, noting unusual conditions and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing visitor activity, verifying permissions when required, and reporting concerns to site leadership.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of incidents, patrol findings, and/or noteworthy activity, and communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and public agency representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
