Job Description


As a Security Officer Patrol Partner in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Residential Patrol Officer, where you will monitor and patrol apartment communities, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff with exceptional customer service and communication. In this dynamic role, you will contribute to a welcoming location through teamwork, integrity, and a caring approach while staying agile, reliable, and innovative in your daily responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to property management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential community, including common areas, parking areas, building exteriors, and perimeter locations, with attention to unusual activity and/or maintenance-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, amenity areas, and community rules compliance, and report observed issues, disturbances, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
  • Prepare accurate daily activity logs and incident reports, and support a professional presence that may help to deter unwanted behavior at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
