Job Description


As a Security Officer Credential Check Driver in La Porte, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. This is a driving post. You will deliver outstanding customer service and communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that always acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, verifying access permissions, and directing individuals to the appropriate entry points within the location.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity at access control points, check identification and/or credentials, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and report unusual or unauthorized activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and support emergency response activities in accordance with location protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, gate locations, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
  • Communicate clearly with site personnel, drivers, and/or delivery partners regarding access requirements, restricted areas, and location rules common to an industrial chemical and petrochemical environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A Transportation Security Administration-issued TWIC is required.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
